I. Passport’s validity
Travelers who want to enter Vietnam need to have a valid passport for over 06 months. However, officers at Vietnamese Embassy or Immigration Department may not remind you about the expiration date when you make an application for a Vietnam visa. So that you have to make sure your passport’s validity is right before coming to Vietnam as you can not enter Vietnam with an expired passport (even when your Vietnam visa stamp is still valid).

IV. Get visa on arrival at the borderland:
Vietnam Visa on arrival is only applicable for those who travel by air, In other words, there will be no visa on arrival at the borderland or over sea. Visa officers cannot really verify bus/train/boat tickets but they can verify flight tickets if they need to. A flight ticket is a more acceptable form of return/onward travel.
You do not have to actually purchase your return/onward flight tickets for visa applications. You can hold or reserve them. For visa EXEMPTION and visa ON ARRIVAL, you must show a confirmed and purchased return/onward flight ticket.
