How to get a Work Permit in Vietnam

• Working for less than 3 months at a company in Vietnam.
• A member of a limited liability company with two members or more
• The owner of a limited liability company.
• Pupils, students who come to Vietnam for studying or internship.
• Foreigners enter Vietnam to handle the emergent errors or situations that the Vietnamese labors or current foreign workers in Vietnam cannot solve.

How to apply for a work permit

• An application form for a work permit using the form No.7 as regulated in Circular No.40/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH.
• Health certificate (here is a list of hospitals that you can do heath check-in Vietnam)
• Criminal record or certificate which confirms that the foreign worker is not a criminal; liable to criminal prosecution issued by the foreign competent agency. If you have stayed in Vietnam for more than 06 months, you can apply for the Criminal Record at the Department of Justice.
• Bachelor’s degree, higher degree or a certificate of special professional training skills that related to the chosen position of the work permit.
• Working experience confirmation from former employers. Currently, the experience certificate is required for at least 3 years.
• 02 recent taken (less than 6 months) passport photos size 4×6cm, with white background, frontal side, bareheaded and no colored glasses.
• 01 notarized copy of passport.

1. All of the required documents issued in foreign countries must be notarized and translated into the Vietnamese language.
2. To apply for a work permit, foreign workers need to be over 18 years old.

How to re-grant of work permit due to the work permit expiration:

• An application form for re-grant of work permit using the form No.7 as regulated in Circular No.40/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH.
• The current work permit.
• 02 recent taken (less than 6 months) passport photos size 4×6cm, with white background, frontal side, bareheaded and no colored glasses.
• Heath certificate.
