However, to enter Vietnam, Chad citizens need a visa to Vietnam for any purpose. In this article, we will learn about the types of visas for Chadians, as well as the visa application procedure and what to keep in mind when doing this procedure.
Besides a valid visa, here are some other things that travelers should acknowledge as below:
- Your passport MUST be valid over 6 months beyond the arrive time and have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
- Children who have their own passport have to apply and pay the same fees to obtain a Vietnam visa as adults.
- Travelers who arrive at Phu Quoc directly from a third country, or from airports in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, can stay in this island without a visa for up to 30 days.
Popular types of Vietnam visas for Chadian citizens
Depending on the purpose and length of stay, Chadians can apply for the following types of visas:
Tourist visa (DL)
The tourist visa is issued for people who come to Vietnam for entertainment purposes or to visit family. The maximum stay is 90 days and work is not allowed during this period.
Business visa (DN)
For those who come to Vietnam for work or business, they can apply for a business visa (DN). The maximum stay is 90 days and users can work during this period.
Study visa (DH)
For those coming to Vietnam to study long-term courses at universities or institutes, they can apply for a study visa (DT). The length of stay will be determined depending on the length of the study program.
Working visa (LD)
If Chadians need to stay in Vietnam for a longer period of time to work they can apply for a working visa (LD). The period of stay is from 6 months to 12 months and can be extended.
Dependent Visa (TT)
If you have a relative who is a husband/wife/child working in Vietnam, you can apply for this type of visa. Maximum stay period is 12 months or according to the duration of your visa/temporary residence card in Vietnam.
Vietnam Evisa (Ev)
Vietnam Evisa is issued to most countries and territories in the world, including Chad. This type of visa has a maximum validity of 90 days, however, currently this type of visa is not allowed to be extended.
How to get a Vietnam visa?
Vietnam visas are provided in two ways, the first is applying at the Vietnam Embassy and the second is getting a visa on arrival (VOA).

- Fill out the secure application form.
- Receive a visa approval letter or Vietnam Evisa via email after handling time.
- Print out the letter and submit it to get the visa stamp after you arrive at Vietnam international checkpoints (airports, borderlands…). That’s all.
