Currently, Vietnam has around 20 different types of visas, however there are only 5 most commonly used visa types: tourist visas, business visas, working visas, investment visa or dependent visas.

The validity of a tourist visa or business visa is 90 days, counted from the date of entry. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for a visa extension or do visa run to get a new visa.

- Fill in the Vietnam visa application form online and settle visa fee.
- Receive a visa approval letter/invitation letter or Vietnam E-visa via email.
- Print out the letter and submit it at “visa office” after arriving at Vietnam International checkpoints to get a full stamp into your passport

Visa on arrival procedure
When entering Vietnam, visa applicants need to present the following documents to the on-site visa counter at Vietnam checkpoints:
- A valid passport
- Visa approval letter.
- 02 photo 4x6cm (taken within 6 months) with white background.
- Round-trip airfare or one-way airfare.
- Documents proving the purpose of entry.
- Vietnam visa application form (Form NA1).
If the requirements is matched, the customs officer will put a visa stamp on the passport. You will receive passport with visa stamps and proceed with entry procedures. Time for reviewing visa on arrival checkpoints is usually 15 minutes. However, in cases where the application is incomplete or the foreigner shows signs of in-correcting information, the application review time may be longer.
