Cambodian citizens or foreign travelers, who NEED a tourist visa to Vietnam, can apply for a visa at the local Embassy or apply online for a visa on arrival airport. Besides the Vietnam visa, applicants have to check about passport validity (valid more than 6 months beyond your arrival time) with 2 blank pages left.
How to apply for Vietnam tourist visa
I. Apply at the local Embassy:
Travelers can apply for a tourist visa at:
1. Vietnam Embassy in Phnom Penh: 436 Preah Monivong Blvd., Phnom Penh (320km).
It takes around 45 minutes of flying or 5.30 hours of driving from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh.
2. Battambang: Road No 3, Sangkat Svay Por, Battambang Province (165km).
It takes around 3.30 hours of driving from Siem Reap to Battambang.
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 Am – 17:00 Pm
Please contact directly to the local Embassy for the visa procedure and fee.
Note: all the Vietnam Embassies are closed on the weekend and Cambodia and Vietnam Public Holiday.
2. Visa on arrival
Travelers, who come to Vietnam by air, can apply online for the visa on arrival airport. It’s suitable for people who have no free time to visit the Embassy. Also, applicants for a visa in this way DO NOT need to submit or send off your passport anywhere. You just follow only 03 simple steps as below:
- Fill in the secure visa form online
- Receive the pre-approval letter within 3 working days or earlier.
- Get the Vietnam visa stamp upon arrival airport. That’s it.
