If you are Norwegian and want to come to Vietnam for sightseeing, or for business, study or other activities, you will need a visa permit. In this article, we will give you a detailed guide on visa requirements to Vietnam for Norwegians.
Visa Request Process
Step 1: Prepare Necessary Documents
Before starting the visa application process, you need to prepare the following required documents:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
- The completed electronic visa application form is available on the website of the Embassy of Vietnam in Norway.
- Photo taken in principle (2 photos) is 3x4cm in size, taken within 6 months and is not a scan.
- Visa fee payment invoice.
Step 2: Submit Visa Application
After preparing the required documents, you can apply for a visa online or in person at the Vietnamese Embassy in Norway. After receiving the application and the required fee, the Embassy will consider each case and notify you of the results.
Step 3: Get Visa
If your application is approved, you will receive your visa by post or you can pick it up in person at the Vietnamese Embassy in Norway.
Outside these exemptions, Norwegian citizens need to have a visa that is provided in two ways. First, through the Vietnam Embassy in Norway and second is getting a visa on arrival airport (VOA).

It should be noted, the Embassy closes on Saturdays, Sundays, both Vietnam and public holidays of Norway.
2. Vietnam Visa on arrival
Another way to get a Vietnam visa from Norway is applying for a visa online. In this way, you don’t need to visit the Vietnam Embassy or send off your passport to the Office. In short, you just need to complete 03 simple steps as below:
- Apply online by secure application form
- Receive a visa approval letter via email.
- Print out the letter and submit it to get the visa stamp after you arrive at Vietnam international airport (Ha Noi/ Ho Chi Minh/ Da Nang/ Nha Trang…). That’s all
