Irish citizens have REQUIRED a visa to Vietnam for any purpose. Unfortunately, there is NO Vietnam Embassy in Ireland. You have to contact with Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in the nearest country to get Vietnam Visa. Currently, there are 02 ways for Irish citizens to apply a Vietnam visa.
1. Apply at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate
Irish citizens need to visit the Vietnam Embassy in England, the nearest country, to apply for a Vietnam visa.
Similarly, if you are currently living outside of Ireland, you need to contact the local Embassy/Consulate in the country where you are residing (if any).
2. Vietnam Visa on arrival online.
Another way for Irish citizens is apply online for a visa on arrival airport. You just need to complete 03 simple steps as below:
- Fill in the secure application form online and wait for a confirmation.
- Be received a visa approval letter.
- Print out and submit the letter to Immigration Officers on arrival airport in Vietnam, then get a visa sticker into your passport.

Importantly, the visa on arrival airport accepts only when you travel by air. If you enter Vietnam via borderland, you have to visit the Consulate to get a visa stamp beforehand.
