How to apply for Vietnam business visa from Romania?

Currently, there are 2 ways to obtain for a business visa. You can choose either to apply at the Vietnam Embassy  or visa on arrival (VOA).

1. Apply at Vietnam Embassy in Bucharest

Requirements to apply for Vietnam business visa in Bucharest

To apply for a Vietnam business visa in Romania, you need to prepare the following documents:

1, Passport valid for at least 6 months (from the date of application submission)

Passport is the most important document when applying for a business visa in Romania. You need to ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of application. If your passport has expired or is about to expire, you need to renew it before applying for a visa.

2, Passport photo (size 4x6cm, white background, taken within the last 6 months)

You need to prepare 2 passport photos sized 4x6cm, white background and taken within the last 6 months. This is a mandatory requirement of the Vietnam Embassy to ensure the authenticity of the visa application.

3, Visa application

The visa application is an indispensable part of the application for a business visa in Romania. You can download the visa application form at the website of the Vietnam Embassy or get it at the office.

4, Invitation letter from an agency/company in Vietnam

A invitation letter from a company or organization in Vietnam is proof that you intend to go on business in the country. This invitation letter needs to be written in English or Vietnamese, with full information about the company or organization inviting you to work, and purpose of the trip.

5, Processing time and business visa fee at Vietnam Embassy in Bucharest

The standard processing time for a business visa is 5 working days after you have submit all of required documents and pay for regulated fee. The urgent visa service is available for 1 – 2 working days, however, you should contact directly to the office to get a confirmation about their extra fee and handling time. 

In addition, the Embassy closes on Saturdays, Sundays, both Vietnamese and Romanian public holidays.

2. Vietnam Business visa on arrival

Romania citizens passport holders and foreign applicants can apply for a visa online for a visa on arrival (VOA). In this way, you don’t need to visit Vietnam Embassy or send off your passport to the Office. In short, you just have to follow 03 simple steps as below:

• Fill in the secure application form and make a payment.
• Receive a visa approval letter via email after processing time.
• Submit the letter and get your visa stamp upon arrival checkpoints in Vietnam.

Procedure to obtain business visa sticker on arrival checkpoints

After receiving the visa approval letter, you need to print out and prepare with:

• Visa application form – NA1 form (which can be prepared in advance or collect and complete on upon arrival checkpoints in Vietnam).
• Cash for stamping fee, regulated by Vietnam Ministry of Finance which cost 25USD for single entry or 50USD for multiple entries visa valid less than 90 days. 
• 02 passport photos sized 4x6cm, white background and taken within the last 6 months.

On arrival checkpoint

You need to go and find the “visa counter” and submit all necessary documents at this office. Staff will check and confirm information on your documents and records. If there are no problems, you will be asked to pay the visa stamp fee.

After paying the visa stamp fee, you will receive your passport back with the visa sticker. You need to carefully check the information on the visa to ensure there are no errors. If there is any problem, you need to contact the staff at the visa application counter immediately to have it resolved.
