How to get a Vietnam visa for Canadian passport holders

Canadian passport holders need to obtain a visa before coming to Vietnam for any purpose, from tourist to business or visiting relative. Currently, there are two ways for you to apply for a Vietnam visa in for Canadian passport holders.

The Embassy/Consulate is closed on the weekend and Canada and VietnamPublic Holiday.

There are 04 ways to apply for a Vietnam visa at the Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate:

Apply online
By email
In person at the Embassy’s office.
By regular mail

Basic document to apply a visa:

Your original valid passport
Passport standard size white background
Traveling plan and booking a hotel, tickets

Note: application who apply for business/study/internship visa required include an invitation letter provided by your Vietnamese enterprise/company/business counterpart (with full address and detailed contact number).

Processing time: 3 – 5 working days exclude sending/delivering time of the visa when you apply online or via mail/email.

Visa fee: Please contact directly to the local Embassy/Consulate for more detail about visa fees as it various depend on a number of factors such as length of stay, number of entries, types of visa and availability of pre-authorisation and may subject to change from time to time and non refundable.

2. Vietnam Visa on arrival online:

Vietnam Visa on arrival is available for those who want to get a visa on arrival airport in Vietnam. You need to:

Apply for a visa online by fill in our secure form.
Receive the visa approval letter after processing time.
Print out the document, board the plane to Vietnam and show it to the visa stamp on arrival. That it is!

Basically, you need to provide only your passport detail and suppose arrival time to make a visa.

Importantly, the visa on arrival airport accepts only when you travel by air. If you enter Vietnam via borderland, you have to visit the Consulate to get a visa stamp beforehand.
